Hello HSMSE Scholars!
On behalf of the faculty and staff, we want to welcome back all the returning students of HSMSE and extend a special welcome to our incoming 9th graders, the Class of 2027. Your teachers have been planning amazing lessons and projects for the upcoming year and are excited for your return.
The first day of school for all students will be tomorrow, September 7, 2023. Students should report to the Marshak Gymnasium at approximately 8:15am. The assembly will begin promptly at 8:30am.
It is expected that all HSMSE students must have a physical identification (ID) card at all times.
Students will receive schedules at the assembly and then report to their first period A-DAY class. Metro cards will be distributed during the 5th period.
We are excited to start the school year and there will be lots of moving parts. In any chance that students have concerns or questions regarding their schedules, we kindly ask that you carefully read and follow the process for requesting and receiving changes:
- All students MUST pick-up their physical schedules on Thursday, September 7, 2023.
- All Students will have the opportunity to submit any needed changes electronically on a form sent to address schedule concerns and requests.
- Ms. Patterson (9th and 10th) and our new school counselor, Ms. Barnewold (11th and 12th) will also be available to answer questions about your schedule (Ms. Patterson is located in Room 105 and Ms. Barnewold is located in B23).
- Schedule change requests to be with friends, switch teachers or lunch periods will NOT be approved.
- Students are to follow the schedule given. WHEN and IF their schedule request is reviewed/approved, the student will be provided the updated, approved schedule the following day, 1st period. To reiterate, we ask that ALL STUDENTS FOLLOW THEIR GIVEN SCHEDULE until changes are approved.
