- Curriculum Night - Fresh, Soph and Jr Parents Virtual Event
- When
- 10/1/2024
ATTENTION 9th, 10th and 11th Grade Parents! HSMSE is hosting its 3rd annual Virtual Curriculum Night. We have reconfigured the event so that each grade band has their own respective zoom link. We have also taken into consideration that some families have children in two grades so we are offering the grade-wide sessions at two times during the evening.
What are the Session Times:
Session 1 5:30 pm - 6:25 pm
Session 2 6:30 - 7:25 pm
What is the purpose of Curriculum Night?
Parents log into their respective grade and hear from the classroom teachers of each subject/content area. This offers parents a glimpse into the academic world of their children and real time visual of the teachers in the different courses.
In the past, curriculum night felt somewhat repetitive for Junior and Senior Parents ... should we attend if we are Junior or Senior Parents?
Senior Parents SHOULD NOT attend as there is an in-person Senior Parent Night at the school where parents will hear from Ms. Barnewold and Ms. Hudson about College Applications and Updates as well as Senior Year events, dues and graduation.
Junior parents SHOULD attend. We took into consideration the feedback from students and parents of last year's event and it was expressed that a grade specific approach would be more valuable to the parents at each grade level. So, yes, Junior parents we highly encourage you to attend.
Do parents have to have screens on in these meetings?
While we encourage screens on we certainly understand that extenuating circumstances exist. We would love to see your faces on the screens if possible.
We hope that parents attending are able to listen and learn more about their child's teachers and course content. If you have individual, unique questions that are not answered during this evening, we encourage you to reach out to the teachers via email.
